Komayaka Karate Club was established in 2007, and the style of karate practised is the traditional style of Shukokai.

The Chief Instructor is Sensei Garry Lewis who has trained in Shukokai for the last 34 years. Sensei Lewis, is a 6th Dan Black Belt, a level III Coaching Instructor, Association Chief Referee and an Association Dan Grading Officer.

The Assistant Instructors are Mike Wilde who is a 5th Dan Black Belt, Association National Judge and a level III Coaching Instructor and Sensei Duwain Chase who is a 4th Dan Black Belt, Association National Referee and a level II Coaching Instructor.
